Case Study

Project Overview

One of the largest timber processing and exporting companies in New Zealand wanted us to develop a system to monitor, predict and manage their fully automated timber cutting sawmills so that their mill usage is optimized and orders are cut so that they have enough time to ship and meet the deadlines.

The Challenge

SoP has to communicate with many systems in order to produce the output our client needed. Also these large variety of information should have been presented in a such a way so that the resulting system is easy to use and intuitive to the end user.

The Solution

We came up with a cloud hosted web solution so that the management can access the system from anywhere. Carefully designed client side information processing with Angular 5 so that service requests are minimized and therefore less DB requests and delays.We already had a central service that provides quite a lot of information and this service was upgraded to provide additional information for the new system.SoP allows users to plan and monitor mill usage and updates third party systems so that data integrity within the company is preserved.

The Results

Effective and efficient mechanism to plan and manage sawmills so that the mill usage is optimized and the order delivery dates are easily met.
